Weymouth in Old Postcards and Photographs

Trinity Street circa Early 1900s

To our left Old Weymouth and to our right Old Melcombe Regis.

This Town Bridge was completed in 1824, partially rebuilt in 1880 and replaced in 1928.

Trinity Street is largely as it was first built, no sign of the tourist development we see today.

Very little motor traffic so no need for the railing present today.

Edward Page has published 'A Weymouth Childhood', a memoir of his childhood spent at
number 19 Trinity Road. It is well worth a read for anyone who grew up in Weymouth
during the immediate post war years.
