What finer view could you find from here, His Majesty's Ships of the Royal Navy riding at anchor
in Portland Harbour Roads with the Island of Portland as the background, and then the coastline sweeping away to the East and St. Aldhelms Head.

The bandstand was moved here from the Alexandra Gardens.
