The New Pier

 

This picture shows the opening of the Pier Bandstand in full art deco glory.

Spoiled only by those ugly concrete legs which provided the support.

I am sure many Weymouth residents can recall an interesting visit to the Pier for a show, beauty or talent contest, wrestling or dances.

Those enormous flower pot arrangements on the prom in front can just be seen.
