What changes have occurred to this street scene in 100 years!

Not a vehicle in sight, very different to today.

The Post Office is still there. The sign for Tetts Bakery and Restaurant can be clearly seen. I am grateful to Avril Henry for providing some wonderful background to the Tett family and you can share this history by clicking this link,

Jim Brown has also been in touch to remind me that Tetts produced Doughnuts for the American Troops during the 2nd. World War.
He can remember hanging around the entrance for the mis-shapes which were not considered good enough for the Yanks!

Such is the stuff of Youthful Memories!

I believe that as the GIs left for Normandy they were each given
Doughnuts from a stand set up somewhere on the Promenade.
