Weymouth In Old Postcards and Photographs

Esplanade - Late 1890s

The statue of Sir Henry Edwards erected in 1885, he was the town's MP for a number of years and a great benefactor.

From the condition of the statue I would suggest this photograph was taken not too many years after completion.

However it is the Georgian houses which fascinate, all appear to be in their original condition and such a variety of Georgian architectural styles.
