A similar view was used on the front cover of the Weymouth Guide on a number of occasions. The memorial is erected to commemorate John Endicott who sailed from Weymouth to found the colony of Massachusetts in the New World and Captain Richard Clark, a Weymouth man, who sailed with Humphrey Gilbert to Newfoundland as captain of 'The Delight'. This memorial has since been moved to The Alexandra Gardens. |
