Weymouth in old postcards and photographs

Kings Statue circa 1930s

A great picture of the imposing Georgian buildings framing the man resposible for much of Weymouth's success as a seaside resort.

W H Smith is prominent on it's original site, the traditional bookstall which remined until the early 1960s is just inside the open doorway.

The area in front of the statue has yet to be developed and was used as a parking space for buses and carriages.
