Horse Drawn Carriage to Upwey August 1936
This photo taken by Chambers is very conveniently dated the 17th. August 1936.
This I believe to be a survivor of the carriages that were replaced in the 1920s by the motor bus.

Once again packed with social history.
The Gloucester Hotel looking at it's finest in the background,
I wonder if the Gent at the front in the natty white slacks and shoes was a guest?

Just look at the ancient bicycles, complete with bells,resting against the flower bed.
