Weymouth in old postcards and photographs

Anzac War Memorial

The inscription reads -

ANZAC MEMORIAL

We Will Remember Them

The inscription reads -

A E F
In Memory Of
Anzac Volunteer Troops
Who After Action
In Gallipoli In 1915
Passed Through Hospitals
and Training camps In Dorset

I have included these three pictures because I have received several e-mails from relations of Anzac soldiers and I feel they may be reassured to know that though the events commemerated here took place nearly 100 years ago, that sacrifice is not forgotten.
Interestingly although the memorial is but a short distance from Weymouth's own Cenotaph it is also just in front of The Prince Regent Hotel, which as The Burdon Hotel was the military hospital in 1915 and is where many Anzac soldiers were treated.

The inscription reads -

N Z E F
These Anzac Troops
later Moved From Dorset
To Action In Palestine
and The Western Front
