Weymouth In Old Postcards and Photographs
|
Louis Levy Postcards I find the cards from Louis Levy both fascinating and unique. Fascinating, because when people are included, he manages to capture and portray the genteel atmosphere of the seaside holiday at the turn of the 19th Century. Unique in that though they are photographs they appear almost as line drawings, a technique of reproduction attempted by many others, but only truly mastered by Levy, in my opinion. |
